More informaton about GASLIGHT can be found at the excellent Web page. In the GASLIGHT quest for world domination, we first co-opted Chris Johnston into turning his ideas for a GASLIGHT-based role-playing game into a publishable product, Adventures and Expeditions by GASLIGHT. Then we found out he was working on a Web page for A&E, and we talked him into building a new GASLIGHT Web site.
GASLIGHT is also available through Amazon.com. The ISBN number for GASLIGHT is 1-889584-06-1.
GASLIGHT was quite a departure for me. I normally game historical miniatures. The pirate rules were about as far off the mark as I usually go. (Like most of us, I played my share of fantasy role playing games (e.g., Tunnels and Trolls, Traveller, etc.) in high school, but I found that I really enjoy the historical stuff better.) Still, I have always enjoyed Wells and Verne, and lately I have been reading Haggard. GASLIGHT grew out of Thunder and Plunder, so many of the mechanics are similar.
The rules have really caught on. We have a couple of hundred members on the GALSIGHT Yahoo groups list. Hundreds of copies have been sold internationally. Chris and I were fortunate to be on the front end of the Victorian science fiction wave.
