at the War Horse Farm in Gettysburg yesterday. \u00a0Dave Wood, Chris Palmer, and I ran games. \u00a0Most of the gamers were Sam&#8217;s friends and co-workers, but Duncan Adams (of the HAWKs) came along as well. \u00a0Among those attending were a couple of husband and wife pairs, a couple of father and son pairs, two brothers, and a niece and uncle pair. \u00a0There were sixteen gamers, all told. \u00a0The plan was for Dave, Chris, and me to run four games. \u00a0Chris ran two back-to-back GASLIGHT gamers, Dave ran a <em>Look, Sarge, No Charts: Napoleonic Wars<\/em> game, and I ran a <em>Look, Sarge, No Charts: World War II<\/em> game.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1617\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1617\" style=\"width: 491px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2098.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-1617  \" title=\"100_2098\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2098-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"25mm LSNC: Napoleonics game\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1617\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">25mm LSNC: Napoleonics game<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dave was play testing his Battle of Laon (1814) game as a play test for Cold Wars. \u00a0Dave wanted to show how you could easily \u00a0make use of an old 25mm Napoleonic collection to demonstrate that the barrier to entry for LSNC: Napoleonics is low. \u00a0You can see from these pictures that the old 25mm Minifigs, originally mounted for Empire rules, look very nice placed on magnetic &#8220;sabot&#8221; bases.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1622\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1622\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2096.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1622\" title=\"100_2096\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2096-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Long shot of the 25mm table\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1622\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Long shot of the 25mm table<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dave didn&#8217;t remount any of his old figures. \u00a0They were mounted on metal bases three or four figures across. \u00a0He stuck two of those &#8220;strips&#8221; of figures onto a magnetic base and then also affixed the LSNC: Napoleonics label to the magnetic base. \u00a0With a minimum of effort Dave was able to pull his old Minifigs out of mothballs and put on an enjoyable game.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1621\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1621\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2100.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1621\" title=\"100_2100\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2100-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"A close-up view of Dave's 28mm cavalry bases\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1621\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A close-up view of Dave&#039;s 28mm cavalry bases<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This shot show how the &#8220;sabot&#8221; bases for cavalry look.<\/p>\n<p>Dave and I are working on a series of 1814 scenarios. \u00a0I ran one of mine, Vouchamps, last Friday night at our club meeting. \u00a0He ran Laon yesterday. \u00a0Vouchamps needs a little tweaking, but Laon went very well. \u00a0It was a near run thing. \u00a0When time ran out and we counted casualties, the Prussians had lost 6 bases, and the French had lost 5, while retaining possession of the road that would be used later to facilitate their retreat.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1615\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1615\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2102.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1615\" title=\"100_2102\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2102-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Poles and Germans vying for control of a small town\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1615\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Poles and Germans vying for control of a small town<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After lunch, I set up a six-player Poland 1939 game using LSNC: WWII and my 10mm figures. \u00a0The game <strong>was supposed to be<\/strong> a Germans attack to seize a town along the Polish line of communications.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1616\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1616\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2101.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1616\" title=\"100_2101\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2101-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"A long shot of the 10mm Poland 1939 Look, Sarge, No Charts: WWII game\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1616\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A long shot of the 10mm Poland 1939 Look, Sarge, No Charts: WWII game<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Instead, Duncan in the Polish center went on the attack with his horse-mounted cavalry. \u00a0Duncan smashed through a German infantry battalion. \u00a0Then he got greedy and tried to run down a German anti-tank gun. \u00a0He took some casualties, and his heroic cavalry ran for cover.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1620\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1620\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2106.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1620\" title=\"100_2106\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2106-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"A German infantry battalion getting hammered by Duncan's Polish blitzkrieg while the German armor conducts &quot;slothkrieg&quot;\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1620\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A German infantry battalion getting hammered by Duncan&#039;s Polish blitzkrieg while the German armor conducts &quot;slothkrieg&quot;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Meanwhile the German armor was trying to push their way across a river. \u00a0There were three bridges, and the crossings were only lightly defended by some Polish armored cars. \u00a0The German armor seemed hesitant to take casualties and did not advance aggressively. \u00a0As a result, most of the German armor was still on the wrong side of the River as Duncan was smashing the German center. \u00a0It doesn&#8217;t happen often that a player is completely wiped out, but in this game Alicia&#8217;s (orange sweat shirt) entire German infantry battalion was reduced to a single anti-tank gun section. \u00a0The game was a convincing Polish victory.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1614\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1614\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2103.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1614\" title=\"100_2103\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/100_2103-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Chris' Mars game\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1614\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chris&#039; Mars game<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While these two historical games were going on in one room, Chris was running his two GASLIGHT games in the other. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t get pictures of Chris&#8217;
