or &#8220;Manuel Antonio&#8217;s beach.&#8221; \u00a0When the park was created in this area, they kept the name, Manuel Antonio National Park.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5248\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5248\" style=\"width: 448px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMGP0969.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-5248 \" title=\"IMGP0969\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMGP0969.jpg\" alt=\"A land crab\" width=\"448\" height=\"289\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5248\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A land crab<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After a couple of hours at Manuel Antonio we went back to our hotel, locked up the camera and other valuables, and went to spend some time on the beach behind our hotel until the clouds darkened and threatened rain. \u00a0The water was a very comfortable temperature. \u00a0Tom, Sam, and I played in the breaking waves for an hour or so, and then we relaxed on towels for a while. \u00a0Finally we went in to shower up and get ready for dinner. \u00a0By the time we got on the bus to take us from our hotel up the hill to the restaurant area, it was raining.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5258\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5258\" style=\"width: 491px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_2588.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-5258  \" title=\"IMG_2588\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_2588-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"El Avion restaurant\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5258\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">El Avion restaurant<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For our last dinner in Costa Rica we ate at the El Avion restaurant. \u00a0The restaurant&#8217;s bar is inside this US cargo plane that was involved in the Iran-Contra incident and was eventually shot down in Honduras or Nicaragua. \u00a0After several years it was bought by the folks who own this restaurant. \u00a0The food was good, but it wasn&#8217;t the best meal we&#8217;ve eaten in Costa Rica. \u00a0As with most of the restaurants in Costa Rica, there were no windows, just open walls with a beautiful view of the ocean. \u00a0It would have been a great place to view the sunset if it hadn&#8217;t been cloudy and raining.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_2592.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-5259\" title=\"IMG_2592\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_2592.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_2594.jpg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-5260\" title=\"IMG_2594\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_2594.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">We then returned to our hotel room for snacks while watching a movie on my computer. \u00a0We all hit the sack very early, because the next day, our travel-home day, was to start very early in the morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday morning (13th) we woke, packed, and had our final breakfast at Cabinas Capulin, in Monte Verde. \u00a0Then Orlando picked us up and took us to the Curi Cancha nature preserve. \u00a0This is one of many privately owned preserves in Costa Rica. \u00a0We went looking for wildlife &#8212;
