Benning to out-process the CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) and fly home.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/P7120010_1.jpeg\" class=\"broken_link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8\" title=\"P7120010_1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/P7120010_1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"RDML Morneau presents my service award, 12 JUL 10\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">RDML Morneau presents my service award, 12 JUL 10<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>My tour here has been a tremendous experience. \u00a0I was able to really make a difference and get a lot done. \u00a0Despite popular belief and the dearth of coverage in the media, there&#8217;s still a war going on here. \u00a0US soldiers are still getting killed. \u00a0As the Science and Technology Acquisition Corps Advisor (STACA) I was able to help ensure the right technologies were brought into Iraq to ensure the safety of US soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>Rear Admiral (Lower Half) (RDML) Morneau said a very nice thing to me as he was pinning on my award. \u00a0He said, &#8220;Many receive this award, but you earned it.&#8221; \u00a0That made me feel that my tour was worthwhile.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be changing jobs when I return home. \u00a0I&#8217;ll become the Military Deputy Director of the Communications Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been in Iraq for a little over six months. \u00a0Later this evening, I&#8217;ll head to Sather Airbase here on Camp Victory for the flight to Ali Al Salem in Kuwait. \u00a0There I&#8217;ll wait for a couple days and then fly to Ft.
